I truly, truly want to like Petmate’s Fresh Flow Purifying Pet Fountain. So much, as a matter of fact, that I purchased two different editions over the past twelve months. In spite of the love, I was just about prepared to abandon the Petmate fountain line – till the glistening new Stainless Steel edition arrived onto the marketplace.
My hubby and I are both pleased to see the ramp in Stainless Steel as our elderly cat has feline chin acne. Thru internet forums and additional talks we found out that the older plastic ramps were attractions for bacteria and consequently might have been among the major triggers leading to aggravating his acne. With this most recent example by Petmate, our cats may still savour drinking their water fresh flowing and filtered, only from the unblemished Steel ramp that’s not as bacteria and acne-friendly as the plastic ones represented.
Out of the two Petmate Fresh Flow Fountains we have bought through the months, 2 were the first one hundred percent plastic editions. The 1st Petmate we had gave out on its sixth or seventh run through the dish washer, buckled beyond salvation to the point where the plastic parts would not fit together after diswashing. (Object lesson to discover here if product length of service is significant to you: don’t place any Petmate pieces into the dish washer!) The 2nd Petmate went from a satisfying white to a discomforting yellow coloration across a period of almost a year, and so we in time gave thanks to the 2nd Petmate for all it had done for our cats and gave it to a local animal shelter who could utilise the now faded yellow petmate without fear about it defiling the general cat room interior decoration!
Which lands us in A-B-A manner back to talking about the latest Petmate which we have had in the newly interior decoration friendly black (it too comes in cherry-red or pink) Stainless Steel edition for about five weeks now. Already the black appears to be losing a bit of its spick-and-span sheen in the region close to the top of the ramp. It appears the plastic wishes to keep faint water stains which will surface faintly against the black plastic if you go away the fountain without cleaning for overly long! Otherwise the latest fountain is nevertheless working terrifically (bonus: the drive is as a matter of fact a great deal more silent and less discernible than our former models!) and sufficing its aim really well offering our cats with fresher, cleaner drink water system.
Summary:
Four stars! Petmate’s Fresh Flow Purifying Pet Fountain with Stainless Steel is a welcomed home product that helps in encourageing cats to drink a lot of water, particularly crucial whenever you feed immoderate quantities of dry food suchlike we do our brood. This newest edition of the best-selling pet fountain is tranquil and cat-friendly. It does an first-class job cycling clear, flowing, ready to drink water for the cats. Cats may either drink from the “pool” or directly from the stream flowing along the ramp (our cats particularly enjoy drinking from the ramp!). Above all, the bacteria-reducing stainless steel ramp conception represents a good selling point in particular for owners similar to myself who have cats with feline chin acne.
And so that’s why, after two years and two editions, I’m still a lover of the Petmate Pet Fountain series. I look ahead with expectation to the succeeding creation and edition of the Fountain – which will hopefully be one hundred percent stainless steel yet stay accessibly low-cost.
